Madrid, Spain
What an amazing time to visit Madrid in its holiday, festive Christmas season. Lots of lights although Antonio, our wonderful tour guide, said that due to Spain's austerity measures, there was only about 50% of the lights and decorations as was usual.
We were also blessed with our weather - just fantastic. In the whole of the trip only a couple rainy days and a couple of frosty ones. The rest - light jacket necessary only. I am from Canada so our weather and temperatures in December are very, very different. In fact, when I left there were wind chills of minus 32 degrees Celsius. (Not kidding.) Antonio said that they were experiencing one of the warmest Decembers in Spain on record.
How lucky was I?
Answer: Very.
